With more than 20 years of professional counseling experience in the field of social work, substance abuse and mental health, my philosophy is to provide hope-focused psychotherapy that will promote healing and enhance emotional well-being. I provide a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where clients can find understanding, meaning and purpose. I am committed to providing advanced empathy to help cope with feelings, problem solve and change behavior patterns that may contribute to mental health conditions.
As a psychotherapist my speciality is working with clients suffering with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, relational, interpersonal and other debilitating mental health issues. I highly regard the cognitive and behavioral models of therapy and focus on helping clients change their perceptions, adaptive and maladaptive schemas.
I strive to understand the thoughts, feelings and situations of others. The client-therapist relationship is valuable Establishing rapport with clients, understanding the problems, selecting targeted goals, and using the most effective modality that will promote change are my top priorities.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both couples and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
